Head Teacher’s Message

I am delighted to be able to bring you some fantastic news to end what has been a great term for the school. Our latest Ofsted monitoring inspection has acknowledged that we are making significant improvements in provision for our students. Ofsted Inspector, Marcia Headon, made overwhelmingly positive comments as she reached the conclusion that we continue to take ‘effective action towards the removal of the serious weaknesses designation’.

Some of the strengths that were highlighted are:

  •         Our examination results, including our accurate predictions of student outcomes
  •         Student confidence in the academy and improved attitudes to learning
  •         A wide variety of opportunities provided for students
  •         A growing sense of ethos of the school as a place of which the community should be proud
  •         Improved teaching and learning, with challenging and engaging work
  •         Raised expectations
  •         Students feel entirely safe in school and safeguarding is effective

The letter reflects many of the significant improvements we have made over the last few terms and I am grateful to you for your continued support. I am incredibly proud of the staff and students and look forward to even greater success in 2018.

I wish you all a peaceful and relaxing Christmas break.
