Key Stage 3
All students at The Taunton Academy study the following subjects at KS3:
Design – Food, Product, Textiles & Graphics
Modern Foreign Language – French
ICT & Computing
Personal, Social & Health Education
In addition Year 9 students are given an opportunity to take Drama
We fully support students in accessing a broad and balanced curriculum which fits the government guideline and supports the students to achieve their potential.
Key Stage 4
All students at The Taunton Academy are required to study and gain qualifications in:
Science and ICT (European Computer Driving Licence)
Students also take, (but do not receive qualifications in) PE and RE unless also chosen as an option subject.
All students study Personal Social & Health Education
In addition students are asked to select three optional subjects to study from the list below:
Science (for students choosing triple sciences)
Computing and IT
Design & Technology – Food & Nutrition
Design & Technology – Product Design
Design & Technology – Textiles
Health & Social Care (BTEC level 2)
Religion and Ethics
English as an Additional Language
We recommend that students take a broad and balanced curriculum which fits the government guideline for a Progress 8 combination.
